Presenting Monkeywrench Racing Featured Customer Bilal Kebbi from Australia!
Bilal runs a Custom turbocharged 2003 Corolla Sportivo as his daily driver
Corollas are very hard to turbocharge, there are several things that get in the way, This is why MWR doesn’t ovver one. To make matters worse, Bilal is in Australia. Right-Hand drive territory. Pretty much everything was in the way for him.
His turbo build started wtih the manifold, clearly a key component.
He used one of our favorite turbochargers, a GT2871R.
The turbo downpipe is clearly diabolical.
We supplied the Darton sleeves
We also supplied the Wiseco 8.8:1 Wiseco Pistons
Pistons are connected to the crankshaft via the Crower rods we sent him.
Bilal was able to find a local shop to provide the machine work that allowed all these parts to work in the 2ZZ.
He did a really good job at fabricating the return fuel system with a surge tank.
The MWR/Moroso Oil pan is essential to keeping everything together during hard launches and hard cornering.
All done, the Dyno shows the results. That’s 333HP for those that don’t speak in KW.
The real test is the timeslip. A 12 second Corolla is pretty impressive.
Here is a video of that run:
Here is a summary of what was used in the build:
|All in all a very nice build, especially for a daily driver.
We at MWR are impressed, and congratulate Bilal on such a fine build.
