Monkeywrench Racing’s exclusive 2.0L stroker kit is the centerpiece of this engine. Increasing your displacement to a full 2.0 liters has many advantages; stronger torque throughout the rev range, quicker turbo spool, potentially lower VVL engagement, better throttle response. The V8 boys say there’s no replacement for displacement and after driving a stroked 2ZZ you might just agree with them.
All MWR built 2ZZ 2.0L stroker engines include:
– MWR forged steel 2.0L crankshaft
– Powder coated front cover and valve cover
– Brand new OEM gaskets and seals throughout
– MWR billet oil pump gears in OEM oil pump housing – a must for high RPM durability.
– ARP main and head studs
– Darton sleeved block
– Wiseco forged pistons
– MWR main and rod bearings
– Competition 3-angle valve job
– Your choice of upgraded valves, springs, retainers
– Expert machine work and assembly
Engine is complete as pictured – just transfer over your manifolds, sensors, coils, accessories etc from your old engine. Cam timing is set, valve clearances are adjusted.
Options include:
1. Cams
We can build your race engine with stock or aftermarket cams- for aftermarket cams just select that option then check out the camshaft section of our store and purchase the cams of your choice.
2. Compression Ratio
You can use the 9.0:1 for high boost (usually turbo), 10.5:1 for moderate boost, and 12.3:1 for the ultimate in naturally aspirated performance.
3. Connecting rods
Select stock or upgraded connecting rods for naturally aspirated and lightly boosted engine combinations. For serious turbocharged, supercharged or nitrous applications we recommend upgrading to MWR or Crower billet connecting rods for additional safety and strength. For maximum weight savings and high rpm performance choose Crower Maxilight (up to 500hp).
4. Core Charge
Like most engine builders we sell these engines, heads and blocks on an exchange basis. That means that we require you to send us a rebuildable “core” similar to the engine, head or block that we are sending to you. We charge you a core charge, which is a deposit that we hold on to until your core is returned to us and is then refunded to you. For a full refund of your core charge the core must be returned within 30 days and must be rebuildable- this means no holes or cracks in the block, no significant damage to cylinder heads, and no missing bits such as cam caps. We don’t care about pistons or rods. Valves may be bent, crankshafts may be scuffed.
5. Oil Pan
For cooler oil temps and better oil pickup upgrade to a Moroso oil pan. If you’re doing any road course racing this is a must because of the stock oil pan’s poor pickup which can cost you bigtime when it starves your rod bearings of oil. Also works great with turbo systems.
6. Port work
Select the ported head option to have MWR fully port your cylinder head. We smooth and reshape the ports and seats for the ultimate in flow. You can expect improved power throughout the rev range whether you’re turbo or NA with no loss of street manners.
7. Valve springs
Select MWR valve springs to safely rev 500-600rpm higher than the stock rev limiter. Add Titanium retainers for the ultimate in valve float resistance.
8. Valves
MWR’s top quality stainless valves work great for most applications. Ferrea’s valves are polished to a mirror shine. The intake valves are stainless like the MWR valves but the Ferrea exhaust valves are made of inconel which has exceptional heat resistance and is preferred for extreme turbo or nitrous applications.
9. Liftgate
Please select this additional shipping charge for delivery to a residence or to a business needing lift gate service.
