THIS KIT IS FOR CONVERTING A MR2 SPYDER FROM SMT TO MANUAL SHIFT TRANSMISSION AT THE SAME TIME AS INSTALLING A 2ZZ ENGINE SWAP. Will not work with original 1ZZ engine, that requires THIS KIT.
Fits: 2001-05 MR2 models with SMT transmission and RHD (Right Hand Drive) – 5 or 6 Speed ALL
If driver is on the left side in your car you need THIS kit instead
This kit suits projects where a 2ZZ engine is being installed in a car that was originally SMT. You must have a 2zz engine with all necessary SWAP PARTS for the engine swap portion of your project (Including 2ZZ ECU and 2ZZ Throttle body). This kit handles converting the car to manual shifting operation, and works equally well if you are reusing your SMT transmission (5 or 6 speed) or installing the sportier 2ZZ-spec 6-speed from a Corolla/Matrix or Celica (this option requires the 2zz swap shifter shaft and reverse blockout).

After conversion, your car will have every bit of the functionality and reliability of a factory-built manual transmission car. We have worked very hard to minimize cost and difficulty of installation. All visible parts like shifter boot, pedal pads etc are brand new OEM parts.

- 6-speed variation includes replacement narrow-type OEM brake pedal (5-speed cars came with narrow pedal so this is unneeded)
Note: cruise control is no longer functional after this conversion, as the OEM cruise depends on the SMT type electronic throttle body and ECU. You can add our aftermarket CRUISE CONTROL KIT to regain cruise functionality.
