If your car originally came with a 5-speed manual transmission and you are converting to a 6-speed you NEED this lever! It installs in just a few minutes to the stock shifter mechanism (inside car) and recenters the shift lever, optimizing travel in the left-right directions for the 6-speed’s shift pattern. What does this mean? The 5-speed shifter has difficulty selecting reverse in the 6-speed transmission. Adding this lever gives you much more travel in the left direction, allowing effortless selection of reverse while maintaining excellent feel and precision in the other gears.
Also works if you’re doing a SMT to manual conversion using a 5-speed shifter assembly.
